The City of Wilmer is going to be installing AMI Digital Water Meters in replacement of the old water meters that are currently being used by the city. The new digital water meters provide customers with accurate real-time data on their water usage. The digital water meters will help customers understand their individual water use by answering the question (how and when) they use their water.
The City Council authorized tax notes in September 2019 to install advanced metering infrastructure citywide. On July 15, 2021, the City Council approved a contract to begin the installation of the new technology that will empower the customers with data that will give them control over their water usage. The Digital Water Meters will allow customers to get updates and alerts and detect leaks to manage costs. The Digital Water Meters have been proving to be effective and reliable for customers in the area of water management.
Digital Water Meters will allow customers to monitor their water usage more closely through the new customer web portal to manage and reduce costs associated with their water bills. Some of the benefits of Digital Water Meters:
You can access the data about your water usage through your customer web portal on your laptop, tablet, or mobile device. All you need is to create a unique username (your email address) and password to have a secure account login. Also, our Customer Support Team will be able to assist you in creating an account and understanding your water bill.

It depends. If there are multiple job openings you may use one application if the positions you are applying for are listed on the application. However, the City of Wilmer has separate applications for Fire, Police, and General Staffing so applicants must complete the appropriate application(s). At the close of the application process, which is when an applicant has been placed in a vacant position, all applications are returned to the Human Resources Department for retention purposes only. Yes. The City will require a candidate to be drug and alcohol screened, at no cost to them. Depending upon the position, the candidate may also be asked to complete a physical, again, at no cost to the candidate. The candidate will also be required to consent to a background screen.
There is no set timeframe. Applications are reviewed and applicants are referred to the Hiring Manager. Interviews are scheduled and depending upon their success, the Hiring Manager will present a conditional offer of employment. A start date is not decided upon until the results of the background check and required testing are received.
While subject to change and dependent upon the position, the City of Wilmer offers 10 paid holidays, 96 annual hours of accruing sick pay, 80 annual hours of accruing vacation leave, TMRS retirement pay match (7%) for full-time employees, employer paid medical, dental, short and long-term disability and life insurance for Full-time employees.

If you wish to plead not guilty or get further information on your options by setting court date, you must either appear in person before your appearance date on your citation at the court clerk's office or submit a written request. You may submit the Request for Trial Form to the court prior to your appearance date. Attach a copy of your Driver's License or picture ID with the form. A notice of trial date will be mailed to you at your current address.
Yes, but only if you wish to pay the full amount. If you have been order by the court to pay a reduced amount or have requested Driver's Safety Course or a Deferral, do not pay online.
