While firework sales begin, they are not permitted for use in the City limits. No personal fireworks, including sparklers, are permitted by City Per City Ordinance Article 5.04.003.

ARTICLE 5.04 FIREWORKS*
Sec. 5.04.001 Defined
“Fireworks” as used in this article shall mean a paper, cardboard, or other type device filled with an explosive that may or may not have a fuse that can be discharged to make a noise or an aerial display. (1995 Code, sec. 5-18)
Sec. 5.04.002 Sale
It shall be unlawful to sell fireworks within the city. (1995 Code, sec. 5-19)
Sec. 5.04.003 Possession and discharge
It shall be unlawful to possess fireworks or discharge fireworks within the city, except where a special permit has been issued by the city council and approved by the fire chief. (1995 Code, sec. 5-20)
