Donate to the WISH Program

We would like to thank you for joining the City to continue bringing hope alive at a time when families may be facing greater hardship. The holidays may bring added financial and emotional stress to families and the W.I.S.H. program offers hope and joy to each family during the Christmas season.  

How much does it cost?

The cost is up to the donor as there is no set amount. The application inquires the Wilmer Star’s (child) clothing and shoe size, and a toy wish to be under $25.00. However, the amount depends on how many gifts you purchase for your Wilmer Star. 

Where do I adopt a Wilmer Star?

We are so grateful to all those who adopt a Wilmer Star (child) this holiday season. You can adopt a Wilmer Star starting on Monday, November 20th, 2023, at City Hall located at 128 N Dallas Ave, Wilmer, TX 75172.   

Where to Drop-off Your Gift?

You can drop off your new, unwrapped gifts through Monday, December 11th, 2023, from 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. at any of the following locations:

Make sure your gifts are bagged per Wilmer Star (child) and ensure that the corresponding Wilmer Star code is included inside the bag. 

How will my gifts get to the Wilmer Star (child) I adopt?

When you return your donated gifts, it will be important to label them with the Wilmer Star code number provided. Gifts are distributed to the family to pick-up. Each family is given a specific date and time to pick-up their gifts before Christmas.
