The Wilmer Police Department has a dedicated staff of 33 employees serving our community. 26 sworn peace officers include a Chief of Police, Captain, Lieutenant, CID staffed by a Sergeant Detective and Detective, 4 Patrol Sergeants, a K-9 Officer and 14 patrol officers along with 2 part-time officers. Each member of the Department is committed to our vision and mission statement. The Department is a 911 Public Safety Answering Point and operates a 24/7 dispatch center that dispatches for police, fire, and ambulance services. The Department manages a municipal jail/holding facility.
